Default Pictures and advice for leaking brake line!

So this is interesting. In the top two photos you will see a silver scratch on the hard black brake line to the left of the yellow resivour cap. This is where my leak is coming from. I have pressurized the system, jammed on the break petal, this is the only spot. This hard black line that runs into a stainless steel braided line and back to a hard black line that runs into a box (abs controller????) to the right of the resivour. The pictures can talk better than I can. Any idea on part number or method of replacement? Do I have to replace with an audi part or can I just make my own brake line by taking this off and getting parts at a local store. I have bent and installed hard brake lines on a jeep before with the mechanic shop i worked for.

Default My etka is showing a few different part numbers.......

Either 1J1 614 739 D or 8L5 614 739 A, depending on your VIN. Just call your dealer and they can tell you (way easier). List is $27.78, dont let them charge you a dime over that... or better yet, your VW dealer can get that part, and probably will sell it to you below list, instead of way above list like some Audi dealers.

Default Thank you! The online ETKA was showing part numbers that didn't exist. My car is without ESP>

so I'm guessing that one is for ESP and one not.

Default Interesting that you have a rubber boot on one of them. Looks like whatever you were preventing

from rubbing rubbed the other line.

I just had new ones made for ours from Royal Brass (.com). Much better and stronger than the stock ones, and about $35 each iirc.

My intake rubbed my stock one.

Default How did you do the Samco intake on a pre-ESP 225Q?

I could not find one that fit my early-build non-ESP 2001, given the location of the N75 and puck.
