Default Planned brake caliper rebuild ???????

Brakes have been thru a lot over the years. ( think I count 5 sets of pads.)
Got a torn boot (cooked) so doing some research.

New Calipers--- $140. approx each
Rebuilt Calipers $ 50 approx each
Rebuild kit $ 25 approx seal and boot

Looks simple enough. Any reason to spend the extra $ for calipers vs rebuilding mine ? ( If I am spending $300 or more, tempted to get BBK . ) Apparently the HP+ pads I have run at recent events are capable of generating more heat. Very pleased with their performance. I have always had to dress rotors after tracking prior to these pads.
Thanks guys for any experience you share.

Default wow....tough choice....>>>

my only thought is a good 4 pot BBK would probably allow overall better braking with all the track time you are involved with...

Definitely promotes larger "*****" when entering a corner! ;-)

Default Just buy the kit John...>

If you're not going BBK...
It's really simple to rebuild them..Once you have them on the bench it's about a 10 minute job! Pop the pistons out with compressed air, install new seals and boots, reassemble..

Default do brake calipers pistons need honing for re-built?

even though there isn't any apparent scoring?
