Miata & Fiero
'03 Miata . . . VF Eng supercharger, Borbet wheels/Falkens, Several body and interior upgrades (roll bar, etc.) Got bored before going too far.
'84 Fiero . . . 355 SBC, 4spd OD tranny w/B&M ratchet shifter, power steering, hundreds of hours of custom-made body panels, lowered, poly bushings . . . too much to list here anyway. Never did like the car itself, and mileage stunk.

Great advice, Steve! I've got everything but the VAG-COM. I'll also add...
Buy a tool every paycheck. It doesn't need to be expensive, just something. You will be surprised how your kit will grow with specialty tools (like security Torx bits) that will save you HOURS of time over the course of a year.
I usually focus on oddball stuff like screw extracters and mag-demag'ers, snap-ring pliars and such.

Many second and third cars. Last group (not including sedans) included >>
a second generation Integra.........at 20K installed a Dinan chip for ~ +15hp.
Car that I still own and had sinec mid 70's is a Triumph TR6. where to begin;
Motor - balanced & lightened rotating mass, flowed cylinder head (top guy that worked on all SCCA cars..forgot his name), bored 40tho over, custom made high lift cam with relatively wide LCA properly degreed in, roller bearing rockers replaced OEM, set of long primary headers and Kas Kastner designed full length stainless steel exhaust, dual point mallory distributor custom fit, triple side draft Webers (took me 2 years to learn and setup) that work almost like direct fuel injection.
Drivetrain - grafted a Laycock De' Normanville (A Type) overdrive unit (designed ~ 50yrs ago), half shafts replaced with TR Revington Spares (Neil Revington in Sommerset UK....great bloke!) custome roller bearing spline shafts.
Brakes - 4pot Wilwoods up front
Clutch - nasty mechanicals replaced with Tilton hydralic system grafted to fit by Neil.
Suspension - also by Neil -- no more lever shocks/soft springs.....Rally race coil over suspension complete with Spachs upfront, Alvins in rear, rose jointed front/rear sway bars fully adjustable.
Nice oversize 16" Panasport wheels rounded out the package. All mods appropriate to the marque.
I did all work myself...except the machine shop on motor and welding of that very sweet suspension.
Still have her....thankfully

Passat V6 GLX 4Motion and Ford Focus SVT...>>>
The Ford was unmodded and traded for R32.
The Passat had a 1BE suspension, Mattig badgeless grill, W8 sunroof console, Euroswitch and integrated V1. That car was traded for Phaeton V8.
