Poor Stooopid SOBS at BMW are suffering their own design atrocities...
From today's NYT:
QUOTE OF THE DAY
=========================
"Some people say it's ugly. I say, come on, sit in this car
for five minutes. You can't see the trunk from the driver's
seat."
-GREG DICKSON, general sales manager at a Los Angeles dealership, on one of
the new BMW models.
THE *** THAT SANK A THOUSAND SHIPS: :-P

If it weren't sooo bugly, that car would sell itself. Extraordinary drive..
if only there was a way to get in it without looking at it. How sad to go through life having to apologize for your cars appearance, especially when you've spent $70K.

Ugly doesn't do it justice. A mix of graceful and oops.
Saw a pearlish-looking one yesterday in Cupertino. What struck me was the odd mix of graceful compound curves and atrocious placement of lights, antennas, and bulges all over the car.
The new seven series reminds me of an AWACs jet. Bascially good looking, but spoiled by the unfortunate placement of accesories.

An odd statement for an architect of your caliber: "if only there was a way to get in it without
looking at it." Just kidding - I know what you mean! However, I, personally, would gladly suffer the little tantrums of my TT to not be aesthetically slighted by an over-engineered clown shoe on a daily basis! ;-)
