Porter Cable problems.
The motor is spinning away but the polishing pad won't turn. Anyone else had this problem? Or has a fix?
If I hold the machine in the air the pad will turn, but I can hold the pad and stop it turning. If I power the machine on with the pad on the car it doesn't turn.
Any suggestions? Classic is UPSing me another one btw.

Yours seems extra sensitive but that's the idea of a random orbit...
I ordered one and thought it was nice but didn't appreciate this type of indirect power. I prefer a direct drive unit much more.
However, your problem might be due to the wrong coutner weight. What type of backing pad are you using? What model number did you get, sander 7636 or polisher 7424...
