Default Possible Future TT Owner with some questions

This is where i"ve gotten the info I know for the Audi TT: Carpoint, Edmunds, Audi USA Site, and here.

My questions. Which TT models are available NOW? Meaning, a dealer can order one, can get one, then either there is a months of waiting, etc, or a large markup. Or is this aleviated with the I4 2WD model.

The Quattro model, is there more than one? I see some posts about a 180Q, I'm assuming the Q means quattro. I thought the Quattro was going to be a 225HP Quattro? Or is that a third model coming later?

Anyone in the Kansas City area? Anyone know if they are going over retail there? My problem is I have a '96 Olds Cutlass 2 door that has some power behind it, but is dying and costing me money. I want a TT but if I'm going to do something, it might need to be soon (having problems again)

Thanks for your input.

Default 2 now sort of

The 180 hp FWD car and the 180 hp quattro in theory are available now. Though unless you were on a waiting list months ago it is unlikely you can get one immediately. This is apparently not try at all dealers as there are occasional posts here about such and such car being available now at a particular dealer.

Also, there will be a 225 hp quattro coming stateside this spring (2000). At least that is the projected arrival. Again though, I believe many if not most dealers have lengthy waiting lists for this car. There is also a 225hp quattro roadster coming. Much furthur out there is talk of an automatic transmission not to mention a six cylinder derivative of the coupe and perhaps the roadster too.

Not from KC so I cannot help you there. Sorry.

Default 225Q Coupe timing

I put a deposit down in May and waited all Summer before calling to check up last week. The current indication is that the 1st orders will be taken around Dec with the 1st deliveries sometime in April. He then hedged that the A6 4.2/2.7T was already two weeks late on first deliveries - so realistically think May 00. I deal with Paul Miller in NJ who is one of the largest dealers (and one I would highly recommend), so they should be on the front of the delivery curve.
