Default Possible thing found after my wreck

One of the many problems I had with my car before its recent frontal lobotomy was that it burned a quart of oil every thousand miles. When I went to the bodyshop to see it with all the front end removed and disassembled, I could finally see my engine without hte plastic cover.

Lo and behold -- it had oil all over the metal under the oil cap area. Something isn't right there and I'm getting blowback. It's been happening since day 1. Could that cause 1qt / 1k miles?

Default Normal for some film under and around the cap...>

You couldn't loose 1 qt per 1K and not notice it if it was leaking that much there. It would smell and smoke. You had something else going on...

Default I would guess faulty pcv pulling the oil into the intake...

the the oil around the cap would be from crank case pressure blowing it out.
