Possibly odd Audi TT 2002 found
I was browsing through a salvage site looking for an Audi TT to buy up and fix, when I came across this car. Im not sure if the previous owner put these markings on the car, but I cant find any mention/other listings of a 2002 Audi TT S-line or anything similar
The Turbo S is believable to be added by owner same with audi logo and "racing performance" on the side, but the S line logo on both wings and the back "look" factory.
In conclusion, did an S-line model of this car exist, or is it just added markings by the owner

Badge Engineering. If you buy it, remove the K & N or whatever air filter and put the stock filter box back in so you don't suck hot air into the engine reducing efficiency & fuel economy.

'Badge engineering' as well. When I was looking to buy a TT, came across a TT that was an S Line and had twin exhausts. As it was a friend of a friend, I assumed it was all 'up and up'. Had the car taken to my mechanic, who determined the car was a salvage - which the owners didn't even know. By then I managed to look up the year, which made the car unprobable - a 2000 S-Line, 180hp model with twin exhausts. It appears that whomever resurrected the salvage, made the car a 'poser'... it appears more than it is.
The amount of decals on the tail end in your photos should tip you off. The aftermarket spoiler, & black panel above the rear exhausts is also not original - it's off a 2004 VR6 model should also tell you that someone put a lot of money into cosmetic mods. Might even be a FWD with a BAM dropped in.
However... I did import a 2000 225hp APX engined TT from Japan, where the 225 was available 1 model year before it was available in North America, It's always worth checking the FAQ on Vortex and running the VIN through the on-line VIN checker to get to the truth. You may not get the service history, but you get the car's build history/data -which you can compare against what you see. May still be worth it... just get to the truth of what it really is.

All the badges are owner installed. They are readily available online. There was no S Line option in the Mk1. That rear spoiler is Votex. It was available thru AUDI as a dealer installed option. Available other places later. Ugly IMHO. Damage doesn’t look bad. The car might be a decent restoration project but check the radiator support and intercoolers. FWIW there are some nice ones available and they are cheap.

MY CAR!!!
Dude, THAT WAS MY CAR!!! I hit ice on the 2 and drove it back to fresno lol. I also tried to research the mark one TTS and couldn't find anything, but that was how I got the car. It had a TON of problems though, electrical & mechanical.
