Default Potential head work may be required>>>>

as Ole'Red has apparently developed a very slight oil leak at the base of the head, against the block. Apparently it is near the exhaust and not near the cam tensioner seals....

With a motor with close to 140k miles on it, the questions is once the head gets pulled to replace the gasket what potential parts should be replaced if any in the head? Would a full rebuild be the right way to go? New valves???? Curious to see what others have done and rough labor estimates on this one...

The plan right now is to do this when we do the timing belt as that is due in the next 7k or less....

Mechanical can get expensive. Don't go with solid-lifters. ;-p

Maybe new valve seals and have the head shaved.

Default shaving the head is interesting, but by effectively raising compression>>>

would not potential software remapping be required?
