Potenza owners: How many miles have gotten out of your tires? Barely got 10k on mine...:(
Just went to tire shop for a rotation and they told me that my tires are worn out in the center.
Funny thing is I do a lot of cornering and the side wear has been very even. Religiously rotated, balanced and aligned. What do I get for this a mere 10K.
I'm a bit disappointed. I made sure that the tire pressure was perfect on them just to ensure longer life. Is 10K what I should really expect on these tires?
I knew what I was getting into, as far as tire wear is concerned, but I didn't think they would be shot that soon.
Tire performance on these were a dream. I have taken mindblowing corners and the car stuck to the pavement. All I could say was *WOW*.Hats off to Potenzas for performance but I guess the price to pay is quick wear. I don't think I can replace tires every six months with this brand.
Are there any other recommendations for replacements that have higher tread rating?...I'd like to keep the same level of performance

Got 30K kilometres on mine. >>
The tread wear indicator suggests the tires wear quite quickly, but 10k seems a little low. I've driven over 30K km (1 mile = 2.2 km?)on mine and they still have about 20% more life in them. Then again, I use snow tires for 6 months of the year so maybe 30K is an overstatement. Those tires don't come cheap either. Maybe the cornering did them in.

Re: What tire pressures are you running? Did you do any track events?
Check alignment. Toe out/toe in can really reduce tread life. I Have Toyo T1S. From everything I've read they last much longer than S03.

I wish I tracked my car...at least there would be justification for the wear...
I consider myself a fast and aggressive driver.
I do brake very hard coming down from high speeds.
With quattro, it's nearly impossible to peel out. My car just goes. Oh well!
I followed the tire pressure indicated on the gas cap...35psi I think it is. I don't remember of the top of my head but I usually check once a week while fill up my gas tank.
