Default 2000 Audi TT braking/ABS problem

Hey all, had a question for you. Ever since purchasing my 00 TT FWD, I have had a problem with the ABS/TCS. I will normally just run the car without the fuse for the ABS in, and this displays the traction control(ESP), parking brake, and ABS lights. When the fuse for ABS is inserted, all lights go away. However, after the brake is pressed, every few times the ABS will heavily kick in and make a "farting"/"squeaking" noise for a moment, and then go away. What could be causing this?
