Present Trade in Value of TTs

Anyone who if Edmunds and Kelly's have good value for trade ins? I have a 2000 TT, 180 non-quatro loaded and am trying to figure out what the right value is for a trade-in. Obvoiusly condition matters, but mine is in excellent shape. Any thoughts or good guides to look at?

Thoughts?

Matt

If you want real money...don't trade

used car market is super soft right now...Edmund's and kKlly's will give accurate values for what you will eventually be offered, but not necesarily what it's really worth.

Plus, a dealer will NEVER give you excellant value...they will always shoot for good and claim reconditioning needs done.

Sorry if I'm offending any dealers on the forum, but that's the basic deal.

If you are willing to go through the trouble, and are able to, try and sell yourself...It will be worth a couple grand at least.

looking at my car as a trade in, and assume Edmunds is accurate..

I'd come out ahead by trading in.

It puts my trade-in value about $2k below the private sale value, which I would more than make up in the sales tax I'd save by trading in.

Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about finding a buyer. I traded in my last car... tried selling it before I got the TT and no bites. Traded it in. Got a car fax report on it the other day and it turns out it took two auto auctions and 6 months to find a buyer.

Not at all trying to say trading in is the way to go, but don't be too scared of it. :-)
