Programming Key vs Remote
I have recently bought an '02 coupe with only one key. Bought a remote and blank key from Ebay. Key was cut by locksmith and I followed the programming technique found on this or another forum. Remote works great - key starts the engine and then engine immediately dies. Does Audi really have to program the key to work with the car? I'm 2 hours from a dealer - one way.

I think you have to re-program.>>>
The car so it recognizes more than 2 keys. It already knows about your One key, and the missing one. it is not programmed for the third. There is a specific procedure for this in the Bentley manual to increase the recognized key count, but unfortunately mine is off-line at tthe moment..
