Default put in fr sway bar bushing...but noticed subframe bolt missing!

I had clunking sound from pass side. Replaced shocks, strut bearings (68K miles). Just replaced sway bar bushings with powerflex...then I noticed the big m14 1.5 x 95 mm bolt right there holding the subframe to body was gone!!! Whoever the mechanic was obviously stripped the nut and just didn't say anything to owner.

I guess that could be the cause of my knocking noise. I shined a light up there and didn't really see threads, so I guess I'm screwed. Anyone know how to repair this?

Not sure of the location without a picture, but Helicoil might be worth a try.

If its the one under where your feet would be than it is a helicoil.

Default Great! Seeing your sig reminds me of when I was at Maxwell AFB.......

a couple years ago for the Air University. I was able to climb into your "office" while it was on the ground. VERY impressive. Hard to imagine laying down while in flight and that hatch is open. Must be a bit of a rush.

Default It's the front bolt for subframe, #15 in bentley manual

It's the bolt a couple inched in front of the swaybar bushing bolt. I just jacked up car on that side, and sure enough a 1/8 inch gap between subframe mount and body when lifted. Thinking of busting out the epoxy, but hoping better solution.

It says in Bentley this bolt can't be repaired with helicoil...says the whole mounting assembly must be replaced...which is welded onto the body.

That is bad. Epoxy is NOT safe. You need to have that bracket replaced.
