Default Q about intake sounding different now that I'm running low profile gasket

I put Steve's low profile hood trim in and I'm hearing sort of a constant fluttering/sputtering intake noise. It's different than the growl from my VTDA (which I like); sounding more tinny, fluttery... sorry about the technical language. Anyway, this noise was prob'ly muffled by the hood before, so it seems new to me.

For those who have installed the Modshack low-profile trim, how did your intake/engine bay sound change? Did it just get louder or did it change in character? And does this complaint seem like the DV fluttering that people report?

Default Yup....It will be noisier..>>

As the gasket is largely for NVH. You'll hear more mechanical sounds (including the turbo). Flutter is probably the DV that you just couldn't hear before...

Default yes, sound just like mine.

I did a stage II and added the trim. The noise projects out of the intake now. I hear the sound of the intake air going in, the sound of the turbo spooling up and the dv. With all that at times I have a sound that has came to be known as the CoKeBottle sound. It dosn't do it all the time but it does it enough to bug me. Steve and others have told me that this is because of my still stock DV. I am going to switch mine out with a good one soon and hopefully that will take care of it.

The coke bottle sound is exactly what you think it is. Get a 007 and it'll stop.

Default I have yet to put my low profile on yet, but I hear all those noises already....

probably since I have a roadster. Didn't like it at first but now I seem to like hearing whats going on, not for the noise effect but in a way it lets you know everything is working OK.
