Question about Gas Cap Release
My gas cap release seems to dislike the cold weather. At first I thought that there was condensation frozen inside preventing it from releasing, but now I'm getting the feeling it just don't function in the cold. After the car warms up it seems to work ok which doesn't seem to make any sense to me. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a manual release as I'm on empty?

Yes, I have had the problem too
When the temp gets below -20ºF, There is a manual release, I belive under the cup holder, but have not had to resort to that. I have been popping the cap at home, in the garage, to eliminate the prob. I don't believe that it is a condensation or ice problem, tis pretty dry up here at this time of year.

Yes theres a manual release, in the rear, available thru access panel in wall...(more)
from inside trunk area. Once in there theres a two sections of black tubing with a yellow international symbol for fuel wrapped around a white plastic cable. Pull downward on the white cable where the yellow tag is and the fuel filler door above it will release. The one under the cupholder is trunk (hatch) release.

AK R, I think you're referring to the rear hatch release which
is locaed under the cup holder. The gas cap release is located inside the rear hatch on the right (on the same side as the filler cap) Open the panel and you'll find the release. BTW, my cap sometimes fails to open after several attemtps with the console switch. Then, magically, it does. Hmmmmm. Gremlins again?
Cheers!
