Question about status codes, etc.
Greetings,
I just spoke with my dealer this evening, and he informed me that I am still in "C" status. He went on to say that my car was scheduled for production, and not just 'ordered'. I took this to mean that he got allocation for June, and he confirmed my assumption. So he tells me I'm about 90 days from delivery. All sounds fairly decent, as I placed my deposit May 1st.
Now, as I recall, status "C" is simply just "the car is ordered, no allocation, no guarantees, nuttin.", right? I always thought "D" status was actually scheduled? Is my dealer yanking my chain? I'm really playing the skeptic with this whole game, as this is my first time even buying from a dealer, let alone ordering a car to my specs (always thought that would be a Porsche I did that with the first time, go figure! .
I just want to make sure I'm not getting a run-around with this guy.
On a more pleasant side-note, he told me that he would call me as soon as the car came in so I could come out there and watch them unload it, remove the white coverings, and wash the car. He also assured me that if I desired, they would not wax it (they do it in-house). I was rather pleased with how gracious he was about all of that.
Anyways, please can someone clarify the status code mix-up that I have in my head? Thanks!<p>
