Re: Question About TT Le Mans Special Edition....

I picked mine up for 37.5 it had 2k on it. It was driven by the manager. The are pretty rare. I've never seen another one in Houston. Also the wheels are 18's.

Re: Question About TT Le Mans Special Edition....

do you know how many were made in the u.s.?

2953 02-28-2003 09:33 AM

None.

<font color="003366">They were all imported from Germany by way of Hungary.</font>

Europa 02-28-2003 09:34 AM

500 in Avus Silver; 500 in Misano Red. Silver with red interior, red with white interior.

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:37 AM

is that in the Entire USA? and also...

Re: Question About TT Le Mans Special Edition....

I had the Avus Silver with Red interior and it came with the 18" 9 spokes. They are beautiful cars and are a limited edition. I traded mine for a black roadster.

Europa 02-28-2003 09:40 AM

Yes, the entire USA. "Le" (pronounced as in the) and " Mans" (as in Maa)

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:41 AM

Re: Yes, the entire USA. "Le" (pronounced as in the) and " Mans" (as in Maa)

so its "lay-maas"?

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:43 AM

so its pronounced "lay" "ma-s"?

2953 02-28-2003 09:45 AM

Actually the US got 450 each of Avus Silver and Misano Red...

...<font color="003366"> with fifty of each going to Canada. They are hard to come by because there were only 900 built for the US market.

As for how the words <i>Le Mans</i> are pernounced others have addressed that since I started writing this, I se.</font>

Europa 02-28-2003 09:46 AM

"Le" would rhyme with "the"; "Mans" rhymes with "Maa" (with no S on the end).

2953 02-28-2003 09:48 AM

No.

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:49 AM

So only about 1000 in the entire US?

Europa 02-28-2003 09:50 AM

1000, total, with only 900 in the US and 100 in Canada. This makes them rare, and

....hard to come by. I've never seen one, though I'm ordering the replica wheels that I love. Thanks to 2953 for the clarification on allotment.

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:50 AM

So its like Lay - Maw... if you sound it out, correct now? i just dont want to sound stupid and say

the name incorrect.

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:51 AM

wow, thanks for all the info on this :)

Europa 02-28-2003 09:56 AM

<sigh> Not "Lay" - where are you getting "Lay"?

Say "Luh" so that it sounds more like "<b>the</b>" (<i>not</i> "luu")
Luh Maaa

stevenek 02-28-2003 09:57 AM

Oh... so Luh Maw... Correct Now :).. THANKS :)

Europa 02-28-2003 10:00 AM

You're welcome. : P

Europa 02-28-2003 11:11 AM

Yes. Especially the elusive Type-R ALMS version.

2953 02-28-2003 11:13 AM

Only if the emblems are from a '61 or '88 LeMans...

Re: So only about 1000 in the entire US?

900 in US and 100 in Canada?
What about the rest of the world?

Don't know how many were allocated for US (certainly not 900).

However ony 6 were allocated to Canada, ... that's 3 of each color &amp; that's a fact, not a guess.

I suspect almost half (guess) stayed in europe.
