Default Question-Dealer says I may have turbo problem or a hose problem

My dealer just called to tell me my waterpump/timing belt/t-stat job was done and he says the tech noticed a lack of power on the expressway which could be a bad turbo or a problem with a hose. I recall some time ago people having a problem with one of the intake hoses collapsing and am wondering if this could be what he might have noticed. They wanted another hour of diagnostic dealer time to figure it out at $107hr-no thanks. My car is an '01 225 with 51,000 miles.

Default I bet it's either the MAF or N75 before a collapsing intake hose.

Have a friend with a VAG-COM check the output of the MAF first.

Default Hmm..

My 01, 225 did that too.. Partial limp on the highway. Wasn't "slow" just didn't have any ***. It takes alot to collapse a pipe. Are you chipped yet? The MAF's blow. Get it vag'd. Then clear the code and install the MAF yurself, it's cake.

Default Where at in Detroit you at? I'm near Lakeside Mall

Maybe I could hook up with your friend to check out the MAF or N75. They have both been replaced before. Once the check engine light came on and the other time I just noticed a lack of power. BUT the car has felt normal to me unless it has been such a slow loss of power over many months that I just havn't noticed it?

Default Had same thing - dealer said replace turbo. WRONG!

was broken wire to N75 (very flimsy), causing limp mode.

You have any codes? I would guess MAF sensor, that causes a power loss.
