Default Question for Florida members.

I ordered a 225QR from Tampa last month. They're giving me a wait time of 6 months, which put's me into December, does this sound reasonable for the Tampa area?

When I ordered, it seemed that 6 months was the norm, but, it sounds like a lot of people are getting they're orders within 3 months, please advise.

Thanks.

Default I live in S. Florida. I put my deposit down in mid-February,

with Champion Porsche-Audi in Pompano (1/2 way between Boca and Palm Beach). I had asked for a silver 225 coupe, but I told the salesman (Devin Carlson, great guy) I would listen to other offers if they had cancellations. A roadster became available within 1 month of my deposit, which I declined.

In the first week of May, I got a call saying a 225 silver coupe was available, with leather, premium package (17" Avus wheels, Bose), Xenons. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I had been told about 6 months as well, so I jumped on it.

A couple of things I did:

1) Followed up with the salesman every 3-4 weeks. Just a chat, friendly, to remind him how much I wanted the car.

2) They had asked for a $1000 deposit, I said $500, and they went with that, so before you fork over 2-3 large, see if they are willing to negotiate. In your case it might be too late.

3) Be flexible in terms of what you might take (color, options). Hold out for engine and body style, and that's it - it helped in my case (even though I got the color I wanted).

I went with Champion because supposedly they are the largest Porsche delaer in the country and the biggest Audi dealer in Florida, and their allotments are higher than almost anyone else. I also went with them because they are a high class operation (they even run a successful Porshce racing team) and I trust them.

I think they tell you 6 months so you won't be disappointed. In fact, I think it's better: I always would prefer that someone tell me longer than shorter, because if someone says it will take 3 months, and 3 months comes and goes, you'll start to get impatient, frustrated, etc. If on the other hand they tell you 6 months and you get it in 3, hey, you'll be thrilled, right?

Be patient and, if possible, flexible in your ultimate choice, and trust me you will not be disappointed. It's one hell of a car. I would also recommend Champion to anyone (to you if you don't have money down yet). For you it's about a 3-4 hour drive. Good luck. By the way, what kind did you order?

Default Buying from Classic in Orlando

Are you buying from Reeves? I heard that Reeves has one on their lot at all times that can be bought, but they get to keep it for a couple of months for a test driver... This is just a rumour, so I am not 100% on this.

I am buying mine from Classic in Orlando, but I only had to wait about 2 months. Someone had ordered this one (Nimbus/Amber 225QR) but he wanted Silver. He found one at another dealer and it dropped to me. Classic had another (unassigned) one about 3 weeks ago (Silver/black 225QR) but I don't know if it is still there. I am going down tomorrow to check out my car before I pick it up on Monday and I can see if they have anything on the lot.

You could also give 'Michael W' a call on 407 851 8510. Mention my name (John Wilcock). I believe that the dealership in Melbourne is quite large too.

Default Re: Question for Florida members.

I am in Sarasota. The dealer here told me 6-8 months so I called around to the area dealers. I got the numbers from the www.audiusa.com dealer locater. I got ahold of several dealers who had a car on allocation that was available, and 2 had cars in stock. I ended up getting the exact car I wanted from Audi/VW of Naples. 6 Days after I called them I took delivery. Here are the Numbers/names I came up with in my search:
Crown- ST.PETE (727)526-3738 John was contact
My parents had a bad experience with crown a long time ago so there ya have it!
Reeves- Tampa (813) 933-2811 Curt Dooley was contact
Shelton- Ft.Meyers (941)454-4444 Steve Shelton Jr. New Dealership just opened like 7 weeks ago. Had a black in stock. Seemed pretty willing to help.
Classic - Orlando (407) 816 5880
Suncoast- Sarasota (941) 923-1700 Talk to Bill Haker tell him I sent ya please. This is my local dealer. They have gotten a few "bonus" cars in but it is rather hit or miss.
AUDI of Naples- Naples (941) 435-3200 Great experience with Craig my salesman. Give him a call tell him I sent ya. It might be worth it to make the long drive down. I paid MSRP for my 225 Coupe. Good Luck in your search! Let me know if you need any more help.

Default Re: I live in S. Florida. I put my deposit down in mid-February,

I ordered a nimbus grey 225QR with bball leather and all the fixn's, with exception to the nav and the cell from Reeves BMW, AUDI and Hummer. I'm pretty set on this configuration.

I've already put my 1k down and will be getting it for MSRP.

Patiently waiting.

Yeah, the Nimbus/Amber at Reeves is a 180, nice but I'm set on a 225, they also have a blue coupe 225.

Default I saw a allocation list at the Jax dealer that had 13 roasters in Aug-Sept time frame...

and only 3 were pre-sold.

Call Jim at Key Audi, Jacksonville: 904-565-4000

I am pretty confident they can get you one in the 8 - 10 week timeframe and some of them on the list could still be changed! As I understand it, if dealers in the US swap cars before they hit the boat, they just tag it for Port of Brunswick for Jax instead of Houston or Boston. You get the car you want and less of a wait.

Tell Jim Ivan sent ya!<p>Ivan
