Default Question for the owners of the Mufflex custom 3" exhaust..

What are the specs (brand, dimensions, model number) of the muffler used in the system? How is it able to fit in the small space previously occupied by the resonator?

Default Only 2 of those exist...>>

It's a round 6" Magnaflow. Ground clearance is limited, especially if lowered more than 1"...

Default Spec sheet .....

I was planning on making up a similar version.
This is the component list and sourcing. (about a mounth old)
Local muffler shop quoted approx $100 to weld up based on the Mufflex pics. (Thanks.. Steve and Sheep)
NOTE: polished SST resonators are hard to find...
Hope this helps.

Default Since the inlet and outlet of the muffler is 2.25", this isn't a true 3" system huh?

This setup would actually work perfectly--a 6" x 14", but centered 3" outlets instead.

If fitment and ground clearance is too tight, I think using the 4" x 14", 3" throughput will be pretty optimal and pretty damn loud. Fortunately this website has it, in stainless steel no less. (~$70) It might drone like a **** w/o resonators, but with the 42DD DP w/ TP this might be the best flowing system possible. I think I want to do it. Thanks for the info guys..

www.hottexhaust.com

Default i don't think those specs are really representative of the mufflex system

it's either 3" or 2.75" (per Lowcountry's sig) diameter until the y-pipe

Default You're right, that's AmarilloTT's system..

I think 2.25" won't be optimal, esp. when doing a custom system... I mean, it could be wider..

Default yeah...

you'll probably want to do 2.5" or 2.25" piping for the rear y-pipe section, but the rest should be larger. fyi, magnaflow makes a 3" in/out resonator/muffler that's available from summit racing

Default I'm pretty sure the mufflex currently in my garage (soon to be on RoadyTT's car)..

Is a 2.75 inch system, not a 3. I don't think you'll have a clearance problem.

Default The legendary roaming Mufflex ;-)

She's sitting in my garage right now, getting prepped to take a one-way trip to Cleveland.
