Default A question regarding service based on time not mileage...

I have a 2001 180QC with approx 4500 miles on it, I know I should drive it more, what should I be doing regarding regular service? Normally it is based on mileage but in this case it is based on time. Any advise please.

Default When you take it in ......

for service. Advise the dealer that the miles are not up yet, but the time is. My first service the dealer returned the car and had done nothing. Returned and asked why? They stated the the miles were not up yet. So I informed them that the time was. They did the service and apologized for the overlook. Don't know what your service calls for on a 2001, but you should have that info somewhere. Should read in so many miles or months for service. I have a 2000 and yours might be different.

Default I think of it this way ...

The 2002MY (and maybe 2001MY) has a 4 yr/50,000 mi warranty. So that's 12,500 mi/yr or about 1,050 mi/month. Therefore, service intervals *should* be at:

10,000 miles or ~10 months
20,000 miles or ~19 months
30,000 miles or ~29 months
40,000 miles or ~38 months
50,000 miles or ~48 months

Default I think it's "X" miles or every six months, whichever is sooner. Pleasee

check your maintenance booklet for details.

Default And a few hundred of those 2k mile intervals are to-from-dealer miles, I'm sure. ;-)

Dick, you really ought to let the Mrs out more. LOL!
