did a search. people say take it to the dealer to get recoded after you replace the battery.
do i have to do this if i have a MY 2000. i think i'm pre-immobilizer. i think. (i'm an idiot, how do i tell - i don't have the indicator light)

When I replace the battery, I just do this.....................
Press lock on the FAB remote once
Then insert the key into the door and lock or unlock
Lights will flash and it should be reset.
That's from the manual
If you get a completely new FAB you may need to do the full reset
