Default Question for those with Stoptech BBK especially 3.2 owners who have them...

Does the kit only solve the brake fade problem under repeated hard braking? What about braking distance compare to stock? Any improvement?

Default Just fade...>

Braking performance on a stock TT is right up there.
The fade issue is what's addressed by big brakes..

Brake feel may change for the better as it does with most BBK's but ultimately braking distances aren't reduced (on the first few stops anyway)

Default Yep. Stickier tires is best bang for buck to decrease stopping distances>>

which in turn, after repeated applications will work your brakes even harder and make the "big brake" upgrade really necessary.

Most folks 'round these parts upgrade brakes mainly for cosmetic reasons. =)

Default i don'na know about that

my roadster is, um, fatter than steve's coupe but i think the they makes a difference in the braking all around, not just fade. I prefer the pedal feel as example...

Default are you just talking about 12" rotors? 14" rotors don't stop any quicker?

i would think they would...more surface area.

Default yeah, unless you've experienced brake fade...that's when you say to yourself,

you wished you had a BBK. first time experiencing a brake fade makes you want one...especially when driving hard and using brakes alot.

also, by changing out brake fluid to a higher boiling point may also help stock brakes reduce fade as well. the higher temp fluid won't boil when heated up by constant use.

Default yup, Stoptech's big thing is maintaining close to stock (or a bit more rear) bias with their BBKs

Doesn't decrease stopping distance much. Their website has lots of good tech info. This page explains it: brake bias and performance. Bigger rotors = smaller pistons to maintain close to same brake bias as stock. Better heat dissipation with the larger rotor = less fade.

Default Stock brakes will bring the stopping up to ABS threshold...>

The first few times anyway! Limiting factor then is tire traction. Look at the TT stopping distances sometime...They're right up there withsome serious machinery,,,
