Default Question: Will ECS Tuning's big red brake kit fit under 19 inch LM's??

My wheel/tire guy says "No". He said that the Brembo kit for the TT needs 45mm clearance, but the LM's offer only 38mm of clearance. I know that some of you have 18 inch LM's with big brakes...are the 19's different? Or is my wheel guy mistaken? The offset of the wheels is 25. The size is 19 x 8.5 all around. With the size of the wheels and tires..235-35-19, there is no room to use spacers, as the tires should be flush with the fender lip. So...will the "Big Reds" fit under these bad boys?? If not...some HRE's may be in my future.

Thanks for the help,

Adam S

Default I have Brembos under 25mm offset BBS LMs

ok so it's a tight fit with little to no clearence but they DO FIT with NO SPACERS. If the wheels are 25mm offset they'll work. If they don't we can swap my 18s for your 19s

Default When Quicksilva posts that he's got em mounted sans spacers you'll have your answer......

the Brembo kit TTigg has is a different caliper, hat and rotor to the ECS kit. The ECS kit may require more clearance and I believe Marcus is doing his install today or in a few.

Default That's too bad......

I thought that might be the case. At least he can fit the Brembo Gran Tourismo kit or the AP Racing kit without any spacers. The GT kit can be had in silver, red or black so he will have a couple of options.

Yes the AP's or your GT kit would work well.

Default he can swap for my Brembo's if he wants

or I can sell him my 10mm spacers. Can't believe they need 15mm spacers as the calipers are not THAT much bigger (or are they)

Default So....the fronts of your (18 inch) should have the exact same amount of room as mine (19 inch)..

If I were to get the Brembo GT kit, rather than the ECS kit, I should'nt have any problems...correct? I just dont want to plop down 4K for wheels and have them not fit over my brakes (happened on my old car...TWICE). Thanks

Adam
