Default questions, questions, questions (long)

OK, you all seem very knowledgeable about this beautiful car. Here is my situation. I can't be without a real sports car. Currently, I drive a 3rd gen RX-7 in the summer, and recently got an A41.8TQ (silver) for inclement weather (here in MN, that's most of the year). I love the A4, but have been becoming more and more obsessed with the TT. I have thought of getting rid of both cars and getting a TT225QC. I drove a 180C when it first came out, but was not that impressed with the performance (mainly acceleration) I have not yet driven a 225Q, but presume there must be a big difference. Here are my questions
1) What are the real performance numbers of the 225QC? I know I would be sacrificing some performance compared with the RX-7 (0-60 in about 5.0 sec), but I think I am beginning to outgrow stoplight dragraces... maybe....
2) Is the rear seat actually usable? And has anyone ever tried to put a child seat back there? (Don't laugh... my wife and I can no longer take weekend drives in the RX-7 now that we have a baby... this would be a HUGE plus in the TT)
3) When equipped with winter tires, how does it do in the snow and ice? I need to drive a fair distance to work year-round, and the driving conditions in MN are terrible much of the time.
4) Is there an "S" version of this car planned anytime soon?
5) Do you ever get tired of just looking at this gorgeous car? I can't imagine that's possible.

Default Or the second time. All your answers are in here, but you'd have to look back...

for a few(?) hours of fun reading on this forum.

Suggestion: take spouse and offspring to Audi dealer. Try a 225 coupe on for size then drive it.

That should answer most of your questions.

Default You're asking the preacher about the choir... or something like that... but>>

1) It's fast enough for you, or if not, it's mods city for more HP.
2) One of the main reasons to get a coupe! My five year old begs to ride in that little space back there!
3) No snow in Austin... Don't know, but what I read here, it's a pleasure in the snow.
4) Fabled and we are all waiting!
5) No but, you might get tired of answering questions in the parking lot from those envious souls that want one...

Default Some Answers....

1) Have seen 0-60 numbers of 5.6 to 6.2 for
coupe, slightly higher for Roadster. All
depends on how much abuse you want to give
the clutch. The best times will require
lots of practice. The TT is not at it's
best in stop light drags...it is a highly
balanced, fun, and stable, car.
2) Yes the back seet is usable for child seat
and small passengers. Most ordinary child
seats will not work the best though. Ones
that Audi and Porsche sell are $$$ but fit
great and leave more room for front seat
passengers.
3) I live in DFW so hardly ever see snow, but
on the ice we have had it was great, you will
need a good set of snow tires, but after that
it should be perfect.
4) No hard evidence yet, but rumors abound!
5) Probably never.

Drive a 225 as soon as possible, but don't expect
it to be quite the performer as the RX-7. It is
a fast, fun, stable, useful, and gorgeous, car.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time. The local Audi dealer has a silver 225QC parked in front. I plan on taking a drive in the near future. By the way, are most dealers charging sticker price?

Default Well, MN isn't *That* bad, but you do need snows. I'm in Mpls....

Plus, there's not much more room in the back seat, than with the RX-7.
The A4 has more room.

Default MN TT

Actually, my RX-7 has no back seat, so anything is a plus. My problem is that I have to venture out of the Cities rather often, and the back roads are not as well-cleared as the Metro ones. You don't think the weather here is bad? It is murder on cars... snow, salt and sand in the winter, bugs and hail in the summer... impossible to ever have a clean car.

Default It is tought to keep a car clean in winter, I agree....

I forgot 'bout the seat in the RX-7.
You could probably get by with using the rear seat in the TT for a number of years, 'till your child is 8 or so.

You will need 4 snows, we have them on our A4 and TT.

Have you been to Carousel?
I actually bought my TT in Rochester.
For ref., there is a Triple Green TTR in Sears lot off 494 and Plym. Rd.
