Very tedious job, open the gauge, heat up the face and remove it from the plastic...
face holder. Remove the red backing with paint remover. I really wouldn't recommend it. This was a used gauge I bought cheap to experiment with. If you get anything on the face it will ruin it and you'll be without a gauge, since they don't make them anymore. The heat from the paint remover also started to curl the face plate slightly.
It was really just an experiment that fortunately turned out OK.

The gauge LEDs are actually white, but there is a red backing on the face plate....
you can see the white LEDs here.....

And here is the red backing, that has to be removed...

Again, I really wouldn't recommend trying this without a spare gauge.
