Default Rear Haldex/differential unit install. . .

The rear final drive unit in my TTQ is shot (clutch slipping) and I've got a used replacement - does anyone have any tips on a re&re for it? Any other special tools besides the 12-point internal drives? It looks fairly straight forward, but I can't find a lick of info. on it in the Bentley. Unfortunately, I'll be doing in on jack-stands in my garage.

Also, is MT90 okay for the rear diff.?

Default MT90 should be OK. I recently changed mine with VW OEM differential fluid

which I believe is just a synthetic 75W-90 oil, which is what MT90 is.

Default I swapped the guts on mine when I did my LSD; however, sounds like you'll be doing more

I've got some pics on my fotki, and I did a rough write up on this site, but again this was just the diff guts.

Default I don't know if you've already seen this, but it may be of some use...

Interesting...according to this, flat bed towing isn't necessary??
