replace ecm or sell?
i've got a silver 2000 TT quattro (1.8/180 HP/PS) with 100k miles near portland, or. it suddenly wouldn't start and the shop says it needs a new ecm/computer for ~$900, as well as some gaskets and some other minor things.
is there a cheaper way to source an ecm? if not, i'm considering selling it -- anyone interested, or have an idea what a fair price would be in this condition?

Last time I looked a few months ago, there were ECM's on Ebay selling for $100. You will need to get the part number, either remove your ECM and look at the part number on it, or plug in VCDS-Lite on your laptop and connect to the ECM and it will tell you.
