Replacement convertable top help?
My gf has a 2002 audi tt and we love the car, but the damn back window keeps coming loose, well after different attempts to glue the window back in(it's actual glass) she got mad and bought a new top and i'm expected to put it in. I've been looking for information and all i've seem to find is bits and pieces and that its going to take a long time. Anybody have a writeup, advice or link that may help me out? I really don't want to make a big mistake with the new top. Thanks for any help.

I've done it. It's not difficult, just tedious.
Expect to spend approx 14 hours doing this.
Clear a weekend or more, I did it over a 2 week span working on it after work for about an hour or so. I was also being really careful cause didn't wan't to mess stuff up.
Search on the vortex there's a couple of diy there.

awesome thank you very much, found some good pics and instructions with that, is there there special tools that you remember, i keep reading 1/4" rivets, that's the head size correct? What kind of glue did you use for fabric, i was thinking about 3m 8008, that's what i've heard a lot of people talking about. thanks again for all the help i really appreciate it.

The top uses 2 different size of rivets: it uses four rivets sized at 1/4" and eight sized at 1/8"
You can one of two things for rivets:
1. you can buy a rebuild kit from Audi for the top that supposedly has all rivets required and other stuff. Last I hear it was about $120 or so. I don't have a part number for it.
2. OR, what I did, go to Harbor Freight Tool and buy a riveter that comes with the rivets already for $20. Just like this one:
I can't remember the number for the glue I used. But it was the 3M green spray can. you spray onto something else (like a piece of tile) and then use a brush to spread it on the top.
