Replacement key
We have a 2002 TT. We lost one of the keys, and would, of course, like to have at least two. The dealer is at least an hour away, and requires two visits, and 300.00 to set this up.
Are there any alternatives?
Thanks
1. Put good working key in ignition, turn key to accessory, close door.
2. Take 2nd (unprogrammed) key, lock driver door with it, take key out of door.
3. Press unlock button on 2nd key. Lights on car should flash.
4. Wait 6 seconds, press unlock button again.
Key should now be programmed.
(I'm not sure if this works for all MK1 TT's, might only work for 2000-2002's. Can anyone confirm? I have a 2001 and this is the procedure I used and it works for me.)
