Default Replacing Brake Fluid - How To Questions

I want to replace my brake fluid with Motul 600. I have Stoptechs on the front and stock on the rear. I know I could just start pouring fluid in and pumping/bleeding brakes, but I understand there is a service tool for cycling the ABS valves that insures you get a full purge of the system. I also understand one can do this by taking their car out and slamming on the brakes and getting the ABS system to modulate, and then repurge brake fluid, but this seems like alot of trouble.

Suggestions and experience is appreciated.

Default You will need the VAG tool to purge the ABS reserves, otherwise you will need to do exactly as

you have already described.

If you don't thave the VAG tool, go find a shop w/ a VAG tool and pay them $30 to bleed the system.

You can use VAG-COM.

Default what I was told

Here is an example for the A4/S4:

"Hydraulic system, bleeding
The hydraulic pump for traction control -V156- is activated to bleed the
hydraulic system.
- Connect VAS5051 tester or VAG1551 scan tool and select the address
word 03 "Brake Electronics".
- Press buttons -0- and -4- to select function 04 "Basic Setting"
- Press buttons -0-, -0-, and -2-.
The hydraulic pump for traction control -V156- is activated for ten (10)
seconds.
- Press the button to end the function."

It is pretty similar using VAG-COM. See the Basic Settings part of the
demo:<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/tour/b-settings.html">vag-com</a></li></ul>

TT does not have V156, it uses N247 (brake booster coil).
