Default replacing strut bushings/bearings with KW v.3s...is there a special tool for the center

part? i have a tool to remove the large nut below...but what do you use for the top part to keep it from spinning? i tried all kind of sockets and nothing fits over, since its got a flat sides for an open wrench, but i can't get the open wrench in there...its too deep.

any suggestions? this is for KW v.3 with adjustment on top.

Default I thought that KWs were like Konis

I think a 7 or 8mm socket fits on the top nut below the adjustment tab (with konis).

do you have a pic of the strut top?

Default You need this.....

<center><img src="http://zdmak.com/wbstore/images/NW3077.jpg"></center><p>i've tried deep offset wrenchs and 02 sockets - and nothing works. Impact gun will work as well - but you need this special tool as its open enough to allow you to put a full 10 mm wrench inside it.<ul><li><a href="http://zdmak.com/wbstore/main.asp?action=PROD&amp;PROD=MK-4491AA&amp;CTMP=1">Special Socket</a></li></ul>

Default You actually won't need special tools with our plates

Box wrenches and socket is all that is neccessary.

Default The key is to tighten the nut on the slider first

Once the nut is tight, you can then position the slider into the cup. If you decide on using a tool, make sure it's thin walled.

Default That makes sense - but how do you get the lock nut on the strut tightened when the shaft is spinning

then torque it to spec?
