Cannot find the alarm
Hi all
i have a audi tt 225 quattro from 1999. (from germany if that matters...)
and I have some problems with my alarm going off when it shouldnt and some strange battery drain.
so, many people talk about problems with a internal battery in the alarm, and every one says that the alarm is placed closed to the left rear lamp.
however my alarm isnt there, so my question is, where is my alarm?
thanks.

> Try disabling the internal motion sensors (drivers side B pillar )
How do I access this internal motion sensor in a Mk I - is it in the door jam near to the latch or behind the side carpeting below window level, or...?

Oh, dear Lord! Last night, one of my neighbors had a similar problem. He ended up walking the whole street. So, I found him following the noise. But for him, it started all unexpectedly at night.
Well, for him, it was a problem with the battery. We disconnected the battery for a few minutes and then reconnected it. Basically, this can sometimes reset the car's systems and resolve the issue.

I forget if there was an alarm horn in the rear quarter, or if that was up in the plenum behind the wipers.
I had similar alarm issues with a bad hood switch in one of the various cars. You should be able to scan the car with VagCom or similar to determine what sensor it thinks is setting off the alarm.
