Default Routing cable through defrost vent to lower dash

How is this done? I've seen a lot of people do it but I can't figure it out for the life of me. Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!

Pull the vent and just drop one down.

Thanks for the quick response and detail! I'm attempting to go from the right vent as I'm putting a GPS receiver up there. It fits perfectly in the hole left and the metal base is perfect (the GPS has a magnet built it). The left side looks easy now with your pictures but I need to do the right. Thanks!

Default Shouldn't be much different.......>

You may have to punch a hole through the plastic under the vent....Others have done this with little trouble..

Easier to go through one of the front vents though and use one of my GadgeTT GPS mounts (Garmin shown)

Sorry... I meant from the right defrost vent down to the lower dash. On the right side there is a metal plate in place of a speaker. I'm guessing I need to drill a hole to get through?

The GPS is one to hook up to the carputer that I'm installing. Just a little circle probably 2" in diameter that has a USB cable on it.

Thanks again

Sounds like you'll need to drill a hole like I mentioned..

Easier said than done. With the windshield there, I have virtually no room to drill through the metal plate or the plastic bit. :-/

That's why I keep a 90 degree drill adapter in the toolbox!

Default Isn't there already a hole?

I used the hole shown at the 6 o'clock position here to run my XM antenna wire down. The install on this picture made a larger hole at the 9 o'clock position.

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1412647.phtml
