Our San Diego, Orange County get together is scheduled for Sunday, August 18th at 3:00 pm. The location is Fidel's Norte Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Carlsbad. The reason I picked Carlsbad is because it is about mid-point between San Diego and Orange County, which should make this fairly convenient for many.

The reason I chose 3pm, is because that's when the Happy Hour starts! They will have specials from 3-6, including discounts on drinks,
appetizers and such.

We do not have any special arrangements with Fidel's, but if you can't figure out who's who, just ask the hostess. Please let me know if you plan on attending and who you are bringing, just to give me an idea of how many chairs to snag.

Here are the directions.

Take I-5 to Carlsbad Village Drive and head west 0.5 miles.
Make a Left on Carlsbad Blvd.
Right into the first driveway and you will see the Carlsbad Inn.
Just to the right of that is Fidel's Norte. You may or may not find parking in that lot.


If you don't, exit the same driveway and go right at Carlsbad Bl.
Make a U-Turn @ the first light and go left at Carlsbad Village Dr.
You will see a wooden sign on the left which reads "Fidel's Norte" and just beyond that there is some underground parking.

They've got 3 places. 2 in CA and one here in the gorge. I recommend the Shrimp Super Quesadilla, Fish Taco or the Chicken Asada w/corn tortillas. Carnitas and Chili Colorado are good too.
