Default Service department just fed me a load
Told my dealer's service department I was experiencing a distinct humming/honking noise from the engine compartment between about 2500-3000 rpm, and he insisted that it was "just some rattle, if it's really bothering you bring it in and we'll tighten things up". Not to mention the fact that they're booked through the middle of April.

Bummer, I was pretty sure they knew what they were talking about for a while ...
