Default Setting off an airbag....

sorry for the crappy cellphone video but this was too funny to not share... did it with a 9V battery to a salvage A4 we were parting out.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v323/type89q/?action=view&current=022407_15571.flv</a

Default Tee hee. Gotta say, though -- it'd have been funnier if some people were in the car.

I totally would have volunteered for that -- with a helmet on, of course. =D

Default Last time I was at the dealer, some tech did that to an airbag that was....

out of the car. I guess they can't ship them un-deployed. In that enclosed garage, it was LOUD.

Default actually...

they can and do ship them undeployed (it's ruined once deployed) however they do replace a lot of airbags under warranty because of a "resistance too high" code at which point the airbag must be disposed of. Before disposal they must set it off (guess you don't want live pyrotechnics in the landfill) so that's why they do that at the shop. That, and it's a helluvalotta fun.

Default Yes, that's why it's original>>

not.

But what's even more interesting is the fact that you completely miss the the meaning of such a simple and old expression as "keep your day job."

See, this expression implies "hey, you're trying to be funny, but you're not, so whatever you do for a career, keep that, because your chances of making it as a comic are slim to none."

Totally applicable when I said it to you. You made a joke, it was not funny and nobody got it, so I told you to "keep your day job."

In this case, however, it really doesn't apply. I wasn't trying to make a joke. I was merely sharing a video that was amusing. There's a vast difference between those two.
