Side Marker Lights
I recently imported a 2000 TT from Japan (a 225 Coupe), and am in the process of getting it ready for a MoT Inspection so it can be road licensed. (The import limit is 15 years in Canada). The Japanese model doesn't have any side marker lights which are required for the local MoT Inspection - no side amber in the front and no red in the rear - as visible from the side of the car. My impression is that these side markers are built into the headlight and tail light units. I have to replace the headlights anyway, as they are non-DoT spec to DoT spec. I've been looking at the parts diagrams to see if there are any bulbs in the headlight/tail light units for the side markers, but do not see any.

Since the OEM headlight and tail light units are supposed to be interchangeable (2000-2006) how are the side markers visible on North American TTs?:

I'd appreciate if someone could comment on the location on their side markers and how they are visible, and maybe the part number if it is readable.
Thanks...
