Sigh, the hex pattern on my Haldex drain plug stripped while trying to remove it. Any suggestions?

Default Dremel --- cutting wheel------new big screwdriver.-----pray.

If that does not work, you will have to drill it. I would suggest that you be very careful if you do that. The case is much softer than the plug and it would be easy to drill off center and damage it. Also I would get a depth limiter and put on the drill bit so that it can only go as deep as the plug is thick. (don't do anything till you have a new plug on hand)

Did not remember the shoulder. Do this first, Use curved jaw vise grips. Should still pray :-)

Default Here's another plan...>

Get yourself an offset, Flathead screwdriver...
(The one shaped like a flat "Z").
Grind the blade down so it is just larger than the largest span across the stripped flats in the plug. Carefully tap into place snuggly and try to unscrew..
