Default So interesting/Long night for the TT last night..

I was driving my girlfriend home, and coming down a big hill it felt like i stepped on the brakes, when i didn't.... strange, i was almost to her house so i just kept on going. A minute or so later, i turn on to her road and head up the hill and the car just dies. After walking to her house and a few minutes on the phone with audi roadside, we decide i will try and get gas first because in the area i was in they couldn't deliver the gas to the customer... awesome... so anyway, after searching for an empty gas container, and driving all over creation @ 1:30 AM i finally got 5 gallons in the car and got it home alright.... I guess I'm off to Audi to have the gas gauge replaced. It had been reading funny all day, but last night said I had a 1/4 tank left, so i trusted it. i guess i should have known better. Tell you who will be using the odometer to measure fuel consumption from now on.... THIS GUY

Default funny - had the same thing happen to me on New Years Eve - luckily I was only 500ft

or so from the nearest Mobil. Tried to coast it in but couldn't so I pulled it to the side and walked over. When I asked them for a gas can they told me "we don't do that"..... WTF? I asked him back - "You don't do WHAT? Sell gas?!" Incredible. So I got to hike a mile or so to the other nearest gas station in town who hooked me up. Bastages! When that service station burns to the ground via molotov cocktail - I had NOTHING to do with it! ;-) ALWAYS re-set and use the trip odometer!

Was your "miles till empty" display on target or also whack?

Default That's what happened when mine went....>>

1/4 showing......Coasted into work. Since I'd been showing all the symptoms of a bad cluster except the gauge it caught me by surprise....Dealer ordered new cluster the next day..

Default Had it happen to me a few weeks back. I think it's the fuel sensor...>>

as I put a can of fuel treatment in the tank and after one tank the gauge is reading acurate (or as good as Audi says it should). I also keep a record of the mileage from the trip odometer and it's pretty close.

Be sure when you install the BAMM and 4bar that you adjust the mileage computer.

Default Mine is way off too. Shows under a half tank when there's really only 40-50 miles left.

What fuel treatment did you use?

I always reset EVERYTHING with each fill-up just for this reason.
