Default So, many of you have had cluster issues >>

some in warranty some out of warranty. Well, mine was out of warranty. About two weeks ago my car went into the shop for a couple of items: fix my shifter and install an FMIC.

During this time the cluster 'decided' to die. And if anyone knows, when the cluster dies, the car will not run.

I was originally prepared to pay about $700-800 for the intended work, but the cluster brought the total repair to just over $2,000. This was an unexpected expense. We all know that 1200-1300 can be used for something else.

After contacting AoA, describing what happened, and faxing the invoice, they decided to reimburse me for 50% of the total cost of the cluster including labor.

Here's to Audi of America for fantastic customer service and this forum for the suggestion to contact AoA.

Default This is the second one in just a couple of weeks that Audi has helped out with

This is really good news, hopefully they continue to step up with good service when known defective parts fail.

Default Awesome man. Mine is displaying incorrect water temps and gas levels.

I wonder if I could get them to replace mine?

Default Similar thing happened to me last fall.

After my rear control arm snapped, I had the car towed into the dealer. Cluster worked just fine when I dropped the car off. They fixed the contol arms, and gave the car back to me with a busted cluster. Didn't say anything to me about it.

I got in the car to leave, immediately got out and went back in and threw a fit. They claimed innocence. Eventually the service manager replaced the cluster at cost. What pissed me off the most is that they gave the car back to me like that -- thinking I wouldn't notice??

Man, that was a bad month for me.

Default Cluster problem - FUEL GAUGE and more >>

The fuel gauge says 1/2 tank left but its really empty. The low on gas indicator will pop up on the monitor on the cluster but the gauge is off..

also, when i start the car the RPM needle sticks at 0 for about 2 seconds the jumps up to where its supposed to be..

and for a while, i was having problems with the immobilizer working when it wanted to. I changed the batteries in my remotes and it has been better but still doesnt work at times..

Any ideas on what to do?? I really dont feel like dishing out ANY money to fix it.. =(

You could try the Techron treatment for the fuel gauge probs, but the rest sounds like cluster
