Default Some thoughts about the Mk II . . .

If it had no predecessor, we would be all over it. It's really an excellent update, it looks sleeker and more aggressive, although less sensuous. From what has been said, it drives better than even a modded Mk I. It doesn't have that carved-from-a-block look of our cars. It's not as beautiful a thing. It doesn't have the distinction of creating and being a design icon. It will go more mainstream this time. Most of us will often be smoked by one of them when the new engines are out. I just bought out my lease. I still smile nearly everytime I get into this car, especially on bad days. Even though we do what it takes to own it, we're still all very lucky to be driving one. We'll all enjoy the Mk II, after the grumbling's done (and the turbo 5 is out). Some of us will keep our Mk I - for some it'll be the start of a car collection. I M H O

Default I plan on keeping my TT as part of a collection as well

I have no doubt about it being a Classic in the future and kept by many a collector alongside Morgans and Lotus 7's.

Default I agree, I was simply disappointed with some of the design decision but from a mechanical stanpoint.

seems to be a lot of improvements.

Default I like the idea of a collection...I want to get a sickly coupe first then maybe consider an MKII in

the future depending on initial impressions a couple years after the release. They should be cheap by then.

Default Also agreed... but the real test will be to drive it and see how it feels.

I'm very curious to see how the Mk II Roadster will turn out...

Default I can give you some insight....

I drove one yesterday. I was pretty nice.. I wasn?t impressed with the brakes or the gear box. I thought they might change out the tranny..
I was impressed by the way it handled.. more like a modded suspension than stock.
The cockpit is nice too.. but not the same as the MK1..
Overall.. I like it more than I did when I just saw pics.. but not enough to run out and buy one anytime soon..
Ohh btw the test drive was in Weisbaden Germany....

Default thanks for the impressions ! I'm in no rush either, in fact just bought out my lease . .

waiting on the TTs with serious engines. Did the one you drove have the magnetorheological (sp?) suspension ?
