Like something missing between the bearing and that nut.... the bushing goes between there doesn't it?

Before you get it all back together, you might want to consider Ground Control's camber plates.
They're really damned nice, and they have a really slick spherical bushing.
They firm up the front quite a lot (in a way that some didn't like), but I really dig them and highly recommend them.
