Default starting to think about carpet replacement. anyone done this yet? experiences to share?

i know many of us have had most of the interior out at one time or another (myself included), but has anyone here taken out the whole carpet, or put down a new one?

in case anyone's wondering why, i'm starting to notice some wear from where the driver's side of the carpet meets the rubber mats. i'm also not sure about the longterm availability of seldom-replaced parts like the carpet, so it seems like the right time.

Default If I had a coupe I would call dibs on your old one. :^)

I'm not much help, but I recall someone removing it ... I can't remember if it was to replace it or just put in some sound deadening.

Default I did...

everything barring the dash has to come out all the way to the rear seat cushion...(kick panels, sill strips, rear quarter panels center console)
A few zip ties to cut and replace once reinstalled

It wasnt particularly a bad job just akward...and the carpet is kinda heavy

carpet is molded, with foam/insulating firm type backing on, just so you know, very thick in places.
