Default Steve Jobs' bombshell announcement @ CES turns out t/b a flat screen. Big deal.

All TechTV talked about this weekend was what could the mind blowing (said Jobs) announcement be about.

Turns out Job's only had a *so what* press release.

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20020107/tc/tech_apple_dc.html</a

Default Not exactly. I am no Mac-head but I think the new Imac is cool...

It's half a large melon with an arm and a 15" flat screen protruding.

It has a DVD-RAM drive (!!!!!) and Firewire and OS10.2 and cool video editing software. I likey. I have not $1500.00.

Default Actually, the new iMac and iPhoto ARE big announcements for the consumer world...

Which is all Apple ever claimed.

Find another consumer computer like the new iMac - you can't. Apple's designers do it again...

Default not impressed. not cool. Now how much market share does Apple have again?

Dell and Compaq get upgrades even Gateway says it's makin' money. Hope the cases don't crack on this unit and parts can be removed and replaced as needed. It's another unit Martha Stewart clones can "accessorize" their homes with.

Default Yeah - ENTRY level $1299 - hell what type of ENTRY level price is that? Apple - great designs BUT

that doesn't sell computers. Price does and they never have ever figured that out.

Default That's why Apple was one of the few companies to have a good year last year...

Yes, $1299 is entry level for what you get for it. We're not talking eMachines "entry level" here, we're talking a fully featured Macintosh that will do most everything you ask for it out of the box and that includes FireWire and USB ports and a wonderful 15" display.

You get what you pay for...
