Suspension Cracking?????

So one of the most peculiar sounds I have ever heard from the front of a car-- In reverse turning wheel right very loud pop/ cracking sound--- Same sound driving forward when turning sharply while letting the car hustle a little. Sound is at times akin to a hammer on an anvil. Dealership in Atlanta "Cannot replicate". Please Help

The much discussed "backing out of the carport suspension noise" .

I can replicate it. Don't know what it is though. I can tell you that it is NOT the strut bushings or bearings. I wonder about ball joints because the noise is so heavy, but when on jack stands with the suspension unloaded there is no play in mine. Only pops when being driven at low speed (usually in reverse) and when the wheel is turned sharply ???????????
If you find a cause please post.
I thinking about doing struts and ball joints. Surely it is there somewhere.

replace strut bushing and bearing

I've had the dealership give me the run around and "could not replicate" response as well.

I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could about my car and try to fix things on my own.

are you sure?

have you tried replacing them?
My suspension did the same thing.
Replaced bushing and bearing and sound is gone.

Think so. I did replace mine. My "clunk" sounds lower. Like in control arm area.

Re: Think so. I did replace mine. My "clunk" sounds lower. Like in control arm area.

Thanks for the ideas, I think I will try a local mechanic (tired of the $105.00/hr for a "Can not Replicate" diagnosis) . Pretty sure it was the bushing issue but now I think I will go "replicate" it myself to see if it is coming from the control arm area. I will let you know how it turns out. -- Also, I am not too familiar with the "under the hood" workings of the car (been a checkbook mechanic all my life) is it possible to do these repairs myself?
