Swapped some Ferodo DS2500s into the Stoptechs tonight

This was the first time I've changed pads on the Stoptechs (besides installing the original Axis pads) and it is so easy. Took probably about an hour from pulling into the garage until the tires were back on the ground. No pics, it's all pretty self explanatory.

I was able to use the worn pads for leverage to push the pistons back into the caliper, didn't need to use a huge amount of force, no prying against the rotors. Most of them slid back in just by pushing with my fingers. Only one of the new pads slid right in, the others needed just a slight bit of persuasion, it's a tight fit. But the caliper bridge is so much easier to deal with than any spring clip retention setup so that part was easy.

I also installed titanium backing plates. There was plenty of clearance between the back of the pad and piston to slide these in. I thought it might be a tight fit until the pads were worn but no worries. I doubt I'll notice any difference with these but they were only $80 and they're shiny :)

Everything came from Zeckhausen Racing, good prices and quick turnaround. Tomorrow I'll head out to bed them in but a quick trip around the block showed they already have decent bite even mating up to the old rotors.

http://www.zeckhausen.com/StopTech/consumables.htm</a

you are gonna love those pads>>>>

but the shiny stuff will get covered with tons of brake dust as they are not the cleanest pads....a small sacrifice for amazing performance IMO....

Have fun John!

Went out to cook them today, they seem great

Dust didn't even seem that bad compared to the axxis pads that were in there, great initial bite and no noise a definite plus. Can't wait to get them up into the twisties :)
