Synthetic Oil Advice

This board rocks! After getting such an impressive response to my earlier question about the Bose speakers, I thought I'd post another for you all... After searching past postings, it seems there's a general consensus that Mobil 1 is the way to go. But I'm wondering should I use it on my first service at 5000mi or wait until 10,000mi. Also, I'm trying to decide between 0w30 and 5w30. (225 coupe in the Northeast) Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Personally I use Redline Oil 5W-30: has some advantages over other oils.
