T-316 stainless...is it much heavier than T-304?
I'm curious because I just had my stainless pipe sent to me for my exhaust build, and the box feels REALLY heavy. Like WAY TOO HEAVY. Like SOMETHING IS WRONG INSIDE HERE heavy. Just looking for some thoughts before I tear into the shipping package. Thanks all!

That's what I thought...it just felt damned heavy is all. Could be 'cause it's a 10' piece right now
and just all the material spread out feels heavy. Either that, or my 1/16" wall is too thick. I thought that was pretty small though considering though.

Just out of curiocity...why did you pick 316 over 304?
Since resistance-to-corrosion wise they are almost the same, except 316 has better resistance to Cl corrosion, which is not too much of a concern normally. 316 is much more expensive than 304, right?

1/16 is thick; I would think 18ga would be ok (3/64) but you're in the ballpark >
and 1/16 = .0625 = about 15ga (15.5 or so, if it were available. 15ga = .0673; 16ga = .0598, fwiw)

Expensive? I wouldn't know. I got it for free from my source:) Champaign taste on a box wine budget.
But with the added (useful or not) benefits, without any cost difference, I figured what the hell and just went for the 316. That's why

Should be fine I think. I think it just feels heavy because it's all in one large piece of straight
pipe right now. I know I'll be using way less than 10' by the time I'm done. That's what I'm telling myself right now anyway
